Ariel the Little Mermaid (SEGA GENESIS) Action-adventure 1992

Ariel the Little Mermaid, also known as Disney's Ariel the Little Mermaid, is a 1992 video game created by Blue Sky Software for the Sega Genesis, Game Gear, and Master System that is based on the 1989 film The Little Mermaid.
Tec Toy published a Master System version solely in Brazil.

Similar to Ecco the Dolphin, the player controls either Ariel or King Triton in Ariel the Little Mermaid (1992). Their aim in the game is to break Ursula's spell on the Atlantica realm, which has transformed the mermaid population into polyps. Depending on which character is picked, Ariel will have to save Triton from Ursula, or Triton will have to save Ariel from Ursula. There are four levels in all, each of which requires the player to gather polyps before facing a boss. The first level is a reef maze filled with sharks, clams, and eels. The second is a sinking ship surrounded by sharks, ghosts, and skeletal pirates. The next location is Atlantis' ruins, where sentient sculptures hurl arrows and frisbees, and the last location is a network of volcanic tunnels. Triton launches lightning balls to destroy opponents and terminate polyp spells, but Ariel sings.

There are three difficulty levels in Ariel the Little Mermaid: Easy, Normal, and Challenging. The higher the level, the less money the player starts with and the longer and more difficult it is to reach the stage boss. When all of the buddies are saved, the level immediately switches to the boss. On Normal, the player can utilize a map but must discover the boss location on their own, however on Challenging, the map is gone. Three more characters can assist the player. Sebastian scares off enemies, Flounder lifts boulders that would otherwise make crucial regions inaccessible, and The Digger Fish, a unique character, searches for buried gold. There are keys scattered throughout the stages that open treasure chests containing money, extra lives, or health. Money is needed to buy power-ups and one of the tree fish characters who assists Ariel at Scuttle's shop.
