Sega's Sega Genesis and Master System games.
Titus France created and released a video game for the Amiga, Atari ST, Commodore 64, MS-DOS, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum, and GX-4000.
Dick Tracy: The Crime Solving Adventure is another video game for Amiga and MS-DOS created by Distinctive Software and released by Walt Disney Computer Software.

Dick Tracy, a side-scrolling arcade game published in February 1991 for the Sega Genesis and Master System, was a game in which players controlled the legendary hero through numerous stages to bring down Big Boy. Tracy has the ability to walk, leap, duck, shoot a handgun, and utilize a Tommy gun to attack adversaries and objects in the backdrop. Each level contained a succession of sub-levels, and additional points were provided if players avoided striking any of the numerous items in the backdrop, such as windows, fire hydrants, and street lights. One of the levels ups the ante by having you control Tracy during a police chase. Several of the comic book villains appear, and the climactic battle with Big Boy takes place in a sequence identical to the feature film's conclusion.

Sega Technical Institute created the Sega version of the game as their debut game, based on the 1990 film for which Sega got a license. Sega allowed STI five months to complete development, despite the fact that STI still only had two personnel, Mark Cerny and Yutaka Sugano—who had created Shinobi-on staff. The game was programmed by American professionals, and the animation was created by Japanese graphic designer Takeshi Doi. Despite the efforts of STI, which included getting each character's likeness authorized by each actor in the film—including Warren Beatty, Madonna, and Al Pacino—Dick Tracy did not sell well. The game's delayed release in February 1991, eight months after the film's theatrical debut and two months after its home video release, spurred Sega to insist on being involved in movie-related projects at least a year before the film's release date.
