A Ressha de Ikou MD (SEGA GENESIS) Simulation 1992

A Ressha de Ikou MD (A列車で行こうMD) is a train simulation game in Artdink's A Ressha de Ikou series, often known as Take the A Train or just A-Train.

According to originator Mikito Ichikawa, a Ressha de Ikou MD was published only for the Sega Mega Drive in 1992, transferred by MNM Software. The game references to Artdink's games between 1989 and 1991, which may imply that portions were borrowed from A Ressha de Ikou II or A Ressha de Ikou III, which were released around the same time.

A Ressha de Ikou MD, like the most of the series' installments, was not distributed outside of Japan, however A Ressha de Ikou III, rebranded as A-Train, was introduced to western computers by Maxis in 1992.

A Ressha de Ikou MD is a real-time train simulation game from Artdink's A-Train series. Based on the first two games in the series, the player must use the resources available to build a railroad connecting one end of a map to the other in each scenario. The titular "A-Train" may be operated during the day, allowing the user to develop tracks and stops. Train timetables can be changed at any time of day or night. As the player constructs, development will sprout out around the rails and stations, bringing in cash that may be used to create new lines and stations.

The game includes five scenarios of varying difficulty, ranging from a practice scenario for beginners to extremely challenging situations for expert players. There are three other game speed settings available as well.
