Captain Planet and the Planeteers (SEGA GENESIS) Platform 1992

Captain Planet and the Planeteers is a video game developed by Mindscape Inc. that was published in the early 1990s for different platforms. It is largely based on the environmentalist animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers.

Three variants were created to accommodate three distinct platform capacities, each with very different gameplay. Amiga and Atari ST versions were launched in late 1991, followed by ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, Nintendo Entertainment System, and Sega Mega Drive versions in 1992.

C leaps, B shoots a poor shot, and A shoots a good shot. Because planet power is finite, it must be used wisely. When the planet's power runs out, bullets may only be fired at a very slow rate, akin to Rolling Thunder 2. Defeated opponents will occasionally drop health items or planet power.

Each of the four first stages has its own mission:

    Delete all computers
    shut off all valves
    Destroy the mining equipment.
    Reach the stage's conclusion

At the end of each quest, a boss awaits.

The last stage is a lengthy boss battle. Captain Planet can levitate and is controlled by the arrow keys, therefore the C button serves no use.

The game features an overall time restriction rather than a restricted number of continues. At the end of the game, the remaining time is added to the final score.

The PAL version utilizes numbers to show health and planet power, but the NTSC-U version uses symbols.
